How to add Google Analytics Tracking ID in xenForo

Most of us always use Google Analytics to keep track of the site statistics. For HTML & CSS website it is very easy to add Google Analytics code, which is add right above the </head> tag. But for xenForo we don't add it like simple HTML website but we have our own option. In this post I will guide you through some simple steps to help you add your Google Analytics code in xenForo.

Step 1: Go to Google Analytics page at http://www.google.com/analytics/

Step 2: Sign in with your Google Account

Step 3: Now click on the Admin button on the top right hand corner. Then click on + New Account.

Step 4: Go ahead and fill out some of your forum information such as the forum URL, Industry Category, etc

Step 5: When you are done filling out your site information go ahead and click "Get Tracking ID' button

Step 6: It will popup a Google Analytics Terms of Service Agreement. You can read it and press "I Agree"

Step 7: Now you will be redirect to a new page that will give you your tracking ID.

Step 8: Your Tracking ID number should look something similar to UA-XXXXX-Y or UA-XXXXX-YY

Step 9: Copy it and go to your xenForo Admin Control Panel > Options > Statistics and Metrics

Step 10: Simply add your Tracking ID number to Google Analytics Web Property ID


Step 11: Hit Save and you are done. Enjoy

  3. How do you clear the page cache? I changed my Google Analytics UA code, but it did not change when viewing the source on the forum.
